My Sorority “Suiciding” Story:
I follow your page and I wanted to share my story to give a little encouragement for those ladies who are thinking of rushing for a second time……….
I rushed during the fall of my freshman year and fell in love with one house. I had no doubts in my mind that I wouldn’t get in. I had recommendation letters and my school doesn’t even require them. I was so completely confident in my status with them that I suicided. However, I did NOT get a bid. I was completely heartbroken!
The next summer I was thinking about rush again and was so nervous and scared about the idea of rushing as a sophomore, that I almost didn’t do it. I was cut from a lot of the houses because of my age, however, there were still a handful of really great houses who were interested in me.
I ended up being accepted into the house that was my second choice my first year and my top pick the second year. It couldn’t have worked out better! I am now with a wonderful group of girls who support me in whatever I do and they could not care less that I’m a older girl in our “freshman” pledge class.
I guess what I am trying to say is even if things don’t seem to work the first time, if it’s something you really want, I would definitely try again. It worked for me and I couldn’t be happier! Keep an open mind, keep your confidence up, and keep on being you. Sororities don’t define you, they only add to what is already there.

How about that for some equality?
We’ve spent a lot of time talking about ‘What Not To Dos’, meetings that left us scratching our heads, and times we’ve messed up, but that’s not to take away from all the good meetings we have had. Especially the ones that came with lessons we think about pretty much everyday.
These are the…
